| Biodiversity,
or the biological diversity of life, refers to the biosphere’s rich
life forms or variety of world’s organisms including plants and
animals with which we share this planet. Life on earth is part of a great
interdependent system. It interacts and depends on the non-living components:
atmosphere, oceans, freshwaters, rocks, and soils. All of earth’s biodiversity is broadly found in five major communities classified according to the notable characteristics of plants and adaptations of organisms found in that particular type of environment. This is known as as a biome A biome is thus a large region of distinctive plant and animal groups well adapted to the distinct long term weather patterns, soil and other environmental factors occurring in the region of its distribution.
