Tundra

Gazing beyond the open tundra plain, I stare at the shimmering endless pack ice, curving toward North pole some fourteen hundred miles away. Beneath a dome of larkspur blue sky, on this final fringe of tundra, with our civilized world far behind us, a tremendous feeling of wildness surges through me…… we are on top of the world.
