April 22 is Earth Day.
In 1970 a group of people got together in USA and "celebrated"
this day to draw attention to the increasing environmental problems
caused by humans on this earths. Since then every year events
to mark the Earth Day are held all over the world. But what should
Earth Day mean to each of us?
We can make it a day introspection, and a time to ask:
On this day,let us think about our relationship
with the earth. As chief Seattle, the chief of an American Indian
tribe, said in 1851.
This we know: the earth does not belong to man, man belongs to
the earth. All things are connected like the blood that unites
us. Man did not weave the web of life, he is merely a strand in
it. Whatever he does to the web, he does to himself. If we understand
this, we can make each day an earth Day.
